Water Connections and Barriers
"Every year my sisters and me take a trip to the beach. We usually go to Santa Cruz but this year we needed a change and made the trip to Santa Monica Pier. Although I am smiling and happy to be with my sisters, being by the ocean is buttersweet. My boyfriend is stationed overseas so at the moment the vast water represents a distance, a barrier between myself and a loved one."
