Grand Rapids

My Your Our Water has made its' way across 9 states. From the Sonoran Desert of Arizona to the flat lands of Texas through the Arch in St. Louis, Missouri through the Land of Lincoln to land in Michigan. My Your Our Water was launched into the Grand River in Grand Rapids, Michigan. My Your Our Water can be viewed from the Sixth Street Bridge.

Why Grand Rapids? Why the Grand River?

Grand Rapids is the second largest city in the state of Michigan with a strong focus on sustainability.

The Grand River is the longest river in the state of Michigan. It flows 252 miles through 9 cities before it empties into Lake Michigan. The watershed drains into a 5,572 sq. mile area.

Why should  you care about the Grand River if you live in Texas, or Florida or Wyoming or Beijing for that matter? The Grand River flows into Lake Michigan, the second largest of the 5 Great Lakes. "So what", you ask? The 5 Great Lakes contain 20% of the world's surface fresh water and 84% of the surface fresh water in the United States. Unlike Vegas, what happens in Michigan doesn't stay in Michigan.

My Water. Your Water. Our Water
