Millerton Lake

Millerton Lake was created by construction of the Friant Dam across the San Joaquin River in 1944 as part of the California Central ValleyProject. The lake stores water for irrigation, which is distributed by the Madera and Friant-KernCanals to the San Joaquin Valley.
'The image is from last year but it probably looks about the same or worse now. It is very depressing when the places I grew up going to are drying up and have not water flowing through them like there once was."
