Did you know that you can learn water facts from the side of a Uhaul rental truck? This image sent in from a parking lot in the bay area. Did you know that 100 billion tons of saltwater rise and recede twice a day?
Without water, there is no life. Yet here in the U.S. we often move through the day without thinking about water unless it's suddenly taken from us or conversely placed in front of us in an unusual context.
" This simple and beautiful fountain stopped me in my tracks, suddenly aware of the sound of water."

Ok, maybe ice isn't exactly food but ice is water and water grows food ergo... ice is food.
AND
Ice is refrigeration. Without the early ice trade in the 19th century, industrialization would not have occurred in the same manner. The delivery of ice allowed for food supplies to last longer and helped overt food spoilages that caused illness.
Rain drops on roses and whiskers on kittens... This lovely image was submitted to MYOW after the recent rain in the Phoenix metro valley. Areas of the city where hit terribly hard and experienced a fair amount of destruction, downed trees and power outages. Other areas experienced but a mild sprinkle. Rain in the desert is the sound of music.
"Every year, shortly after the first of the year, my fiance and I drive up to the mountains to see the snow and the water. It's quiet and peaceful. I am grateful that we get to leave our problems behind for the day and enjoy the frozen view"
"This is my two year old niece. She spent the summer learning how to swim. She's loves any activity that involves water. I love any activity that involves water. water is how we connect. water is how my whole family connects. Camping at the beach, swimming, jet skiing, wake boarding or just floating on the surf."
" Over the summer I spent a weekend camping at Shaver lake. It's easy to see the drought in action, the shoreline has receded drastically. It is so devastating to this area because so many depend on water for agriculture. Shaver Lake is man made and that helps generate electricity. That doesn't happen when water levels are low. We can't wait for the water to begone before we care, that's caring too late."

"Every year my sisters and me take a trip to the beach. We usually go to Santa Cruz but this year we needed a change and made the trip to Santa Monica Pier. Although I am smiling and happy to be with my sisters, being by the ocean is buttersweet. My boyfriend is stationed overseas so at the moment the vast water represents a distance, a barrier between myself and a loved one."

"Many of us have spent time drawing on steamed shower glass or fogged windows. Sometimes it's a simple doodle, sometimes a smile face or sometimes a scrawled loved note. Perhaps its the soothing warm water that allows us to think freely and turn the steamed shower glass into a canvas."
